The Association of Global Automakers and the Here For America companies submitted a pre-hearing statement in connection with the United States International Trade Commission's (ITC) investigation into the likely impact of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on the U.S. economy and on specific industry sectors.   This submission represents the consensus views of international automakers in the United States. International automakers have invested nearly $82 billion in the United States and directly employ 133,000 Americans at nearly 500 facilities. Together, these companies create jobs for 1.29 million Americans including people employed in design, research and development, manufacturing, sales, finance, and dealership operations as well as other businesses. International automakers produced nearly half of all cars, SUVs, vans and light trucks made in America last year and accounted for nearly half of vehicle exports in 2016, exporting 17 percent of that production to 140 countries and territories.
