Statement by the Association of Global Automakers

WASHINGTON, DC, APRIL 4, 2016 – “The inclusion of a rebate program for zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) and support for public electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the New York SFY 2016-17 budget is a step in the right direction.

“Automakers continue to make significant investments in the development and production of alternative fuel vehicles, but that is only part of the equation to building a green car market in the state.  We are encouraged by Governor Cuomo and legislator’s efforts to build a sustainable marketplace for clean vehicles.

“We will continue to work with the State’s Department of Environmental Conservation and Energy Research and Development Authority to get these programs implemented.”
