Oregon

In October 2013, Oregon committed to work with California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont to accelerate the market for ZEVs. This memorandum of understanding (MOU) is a commitment to building a market to meet the requirement of 3.3 million cumulative ZEV sales in these eight states by 2025.

Vehicle Sales in Oregon

New EV sales in 2019 were up by 50% compared to 2018. Last year, 1,489 new EVs were sold.
To date, Oregon's progress toward meeting the 2025 ZEV sales requirement has reached 17.2%.
3.7% of all new vehicles sold in Oregon YTD 2019 were EV versus 7.9% in California, and 2% nationwide.

Laws & Incentives

States offer a variety of incentives for zero emission vehicles, including vehicle rebates or tax credit, electric vehicle charging station incentives, workplace charging programs, special high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) or high-occupancy toll (HOT) lane access, and/or fleet purchasing requirements.

EVs are zero emission vehicles and include battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
