New EV sales in 2019 were up by 129% compared to 2018. Last year, 4,746 new EVs were sold.
1.04% of all new vehicles sold in North Carolina YTD 2019 were EV versus 8.1% in California, and 2% nationwide.

Laws & Incentives

States offer a variety of incentives for zero emission vehicles, including vehicle rebates or tax credit, electric vehicle charging station incentives, workplace charging programs, special high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) or high-occupancy toll (HOT) lane access, and/or fleet purchasing requirements.
