Laws & Incentives
States offer a variety of incentives for zero emission vehicles, including vehicle rebates or tax credit, electric vehicle charging station incentives, workplace charging programs, special high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) or high-occupancy toll (HOT) lane access, and/or fleet purchasing requirements.
Visit the Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) of the U.S. Department of Energy for lists of state-specific laws and incentives.
ZEVs are zero emission vehicles and include battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
