Association Files Petition to Have EPA Regulate the Continued Availability of E10 Fuel

WASHINGTON, DC, MARCH 23, 2011 – The Association of Global Automakers (Global Automakers), as part of a coalition of automobile and engine product manufacturers, filed a petition for rulemaking today asking the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ensure the continued sale and availability of gasoline blends of no greater than 10 percent ethanol (E10).

Comments Regarding Implementation of Revised Lacey Act Provisions

Global Automakers submitted comments in response to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s (APHIS) publication of an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) regarding implementation of revised Lacey Act provisions. Global Automakers commended APHIS for the many pragmatic decisions it has taken to implement the declaration requirement.

President and CEO of Global Automakers Spoke at the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars

Mike Stanton, President and CEO of Global Automakers, spoke at the 2011 Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, Michigan.  The topic of the presentation focused on how much faith we should put in technology. Mike reviewed the history of greenhouse gas and fuel economy rulemakings along with the recently announced 2017 - 2025 MY standards. He also discussed the challenges ahead in regards to technology and the consumer.

(AIAM), as part of a coalition of automobile and engine product manufacturers, is filing a petition today challenging the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to grant a partial waiver approving the sale of gasoline containing 15 percent ethanol (E-15) for 2007 model year and newer passenger cars and light trucks.
