Global Automakers sent the attached letter to Vermont House Transportation Committee Chairman Patrick Brennan opposing an amendment to Vermont's transportation appropriation bill that would increase the state's current registration fees for electric and hybrid vehicles. Currently, electric vehicle and hybrid registration fees are $70 for one-year registration and $129 for two years. Under the new proposal, included by the Senate, electric vehicle registration fees would climb to $114 for one-year and $210 for two-year registration, while hybrid fees would increase to $94 for one-year and $173 for two year. The amendment, which was not included in the House version of the bill, now goes to the House for consideration.
