Members' Models Lead Consumer Reports’ Top Picks

WASHINGTON, DC, FEBRUARY 28, 2012 – Global Automakers' members captured eight of Consumer Reports’ Top Picks for 2012. The vehicles were selected as the best all-around models in their categories based on stringent road test, reliability, and safety requirements. 

For the first time, Subaru earned the top score in Consumer Reports automaker report cards for 2012. Additionally, Toyota claimed five spots in this year’s top picks; the first occurrence in nearly a decade one brand has dominated the report. 

Consumer Reports' Top Picks:
Family Sedan – Toyota Camry Hybrid
Small SUV – Toyota RAV4
Affordable Family Sedan – Hyundai Sonata
Family Hauler – Toyota Sienna V6
Sports Sedan – Infiniti G
Green Car – Toyota Prius
Small Car – Subaru Impreza
Family SUV – Toyota Highlander

Findings from Consumer Reports’ Annual Auto Issue were announced in Washington, DC at a Washington Automotive Press Association (WAPA) press conference.
