Time to bring NAFTA into 21st Century
Statement by John Bozzella, President and CEO of Global Automakers
WASHINGTON, DC, MAY 18, 2017 – “Global Automakers believes the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has been a success both for the country and the auto industry. While it has fostered economic integration throughout the region and enhanced our economic competitiveness, we recognize the need to modernize this agreement to address technological changes to better meet new market demands. We support the Administration’s effort to update NAFTA and we look forward to working constructively with them on this important issue.”
The Association of Global Automakers represents the U.S. operations of international motor vehicle manufacturers, original equipment suppliers, and other automotive-related trade associations. We work with industry leaders, legislators, and regulators to create the kind of public policy that improves vehicle safety, encourages technological innovation, and protects our planet. Our goal is to foster a competitive environment in which more vehicles are designed and built to enhance Americans’ quality of life. For more information, visit www.globalautomakers.org.
