Global Automakers and the Auto Alliance jointly submitted a letter to the Washington Climate Legislative and Executive Workgroup (CLEW) on October 30, 2013.  The letter addresses the CLEW's consideration of the California Zero Emission Program as a potential future option as part of Washington's greenhouse gas reduction strategies.

Testimony
The Association of Global Automakers testified at two California Air Resource Board hearings.Senior Manager of Environment and Energy, Julia Rege, testified at the public hearing to consider minor modifications to the zero emission vehicle (ZEV) regulation. Director of Environment and Energy, John Cabaniss, testified at the informational hearing on the advanced clean car program. The Association of Global Automakers submitted written testimony to the Ohio Senate Transportation Committee on October 15 in support of House Bill 177. The bill would make it a crime for an individual to intentionally make, distribute, sell, install, misrepresent, or otherwise encourage the use of non-functional or counterfeit airbags.

Global Automakers submitted reply comments in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) rulemaking proceeding that proposes to permit Wi-Fi and other unlicensed devices to operate in the 5.9 GHz spectrum. Global Automakers comments emphasize the importance of preserving this spectrum for vehicle safety applications. Specifically, the Association does not want the FCC to take action that could jeopardize the potentially significant safety benefits that could come from Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communications. Global Automakers signed onto a letter to the National Committee on Weigths and Measure with the Auto Alliance and several electricity and charging based groups. The letter supports revisions to NIST Handbook 130 recommended by the U.S. National Work Group on Measuring Systems for Electric Vehicle Fueling and Submetering (USNWG) pertaining to method of sale.
