Global Automakers provided testimony at the June 26 Air Resources Board Hearing to consider changes to the funding for the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP). The CVRP provides rebates to customers that purchase battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric and fuel cell electric vehicles. Global Automakers supported the Air Resources Board's plans to maintain the current rebate levels for battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and to provide $5,000 for fuel cell electric vehicles. The Board adopted the funding plan for the CVRP on June 26th.

Global Automakers and the Auto Alliance submitted joint comments to the California Air Resources Board on proposed changes to the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) Funding Plan, which will be considered by the Board at a June 26th hearing.  The CVRP offers rebates to consumers that buy zero emission vehicles (ZEVs), including battery electric, fuel cell, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.  Many of these vehicles have been commercially available for only about three years, and fuel cell vehicles are just now entering the market.  While the market is growing, these vehicles combined...

On June 17, Global Automakers sent a letter to the House members of the FY2015 Budget Conference Committee urging they adopt the Senate language. The Association asserts that Amendment 54 in the Senate bill makes important changes to the House version that provide greater focus on examining the best ways to increase the purchase and use of zero emission vehicles in the Commonwealth, particularly reflecting the consensus that fuel cells are an important and necessary element for ZEV market growth.

Global Automakers and the Auto Alliance submitted comments to the California Air Resources Board on the second 15-day notice of amendments to the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Program.  In summary, our associations believe that the second 15-day notice changes, which would allow a single vehicle to generate up to 129 ZEV credits, should reflect real-world, fleetwide usage.  Moreover, we would also propose assigning additional credit to other forms of fast refueling, such as Level 3 DC Fast Charge.

Global Automakers submitted a petition for partial reconsideration to the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) April 1, 2014 First Report and Order. In the petition, the Association asserts that it and its members, through their involvement with the development of Intelligent Transportation Systems utilizing the 5.850–5.925 GHz band of the spectrum, will be adversely affected by an increase in unlicensed use of the spectrum, as the FCC has chosen to do in the First Report and Order.

The Association of Global Automakers submitted a letter of opposition to the California State Senate Transportation and Housing Committee on the amended version of Senate Bill 994. The Association of Global Automakers, Inc. submitted comments to the California Air Resources Board on April 18, 2014 regarding proposed changes in the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) 15-Day Notice. The proposed changes would allow manufacturers to earn credits for fast refueling of ZEV technologies.
